I'm going away for the week end. The GPS45 uses an Intel 188 processor. Its just like the 8088 in old IBM XTs (can you say ick!) but has lots of new feature (well they were new way back when in '82). Its a 3V chip. It has two serial ports and a programable chip select device. It has two 8 bit I/O ports and has several interrupts. It also has three timers. I expect that one of the serial lines goes to the Dallas Semi chip since its uses serial data. It also might mean that the time sent out of the GPS45 isn't very good in terms that its within a second but has two serial channels it has to go through. A new warning! Do NOT reverse the power on the GPS40/45 or GPS90! The power is connected directly to two capicitors and there is nothing protecting the caps from reverse voltage. Basicly this may not matter at 6V but at 40 it could do some dammage. There are two people scanning photos. I will let them annouce their work when they have a place to store them. I will have links to them from my GPS web page just as soon as I can. I took the one set of fuzzy photos and have sent them off to be scanned. The other photos were taken by someone that seems to be able to do the right things with the camera and lights. I don't want you harrasing them to get the picutres out so I'm not going to tell you who they are. If you have an FTP server where we can store these pictures, please let me know! -tim
